Totally inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s Cookbook and recipe on chocolate truffles, I adjusted the recipe to include honey with a few drops of maple syrup. Decadent cacao morsels with a chia seed crunch are perfect to serve at the end of a dinner party. Or eat them on a weekday afternoon, when your sweet craving strikes. Made with coconut oilcacao powder , and chia seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ( 250 g) unsweetened cacao powder
  • 3 Tbsp melted but cool coconut oil *more as needed
  • 4 Tbsp honey *more as needed may substitute for agave
  • 6 drops maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 pinches sea salt
  • 1/4 cup ( 62.5 g) chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except chia seeds into a medium bowl. Stir with spoon to create a thick creamy consistency. If to dry add a little oil and/or honey. If too wet add a little more cacao powder. Should be firm enough to hold shape, but bot dry.
  2. Use hands and form into small balls.
  3. Pour chia seeds into a shallow dish.
  4. Roll each ball in the chia seeds for an even coating.
  5. Place in fridge to chill and set. Once firm they are ready to eat!
